They say that the best route to a person’s heart is through their stomach, and whilst surgeons may strenuously disagree with this approach, the rest of us are likely to very much concur. When we are offered fine food and the most indulgent drinks, our body not only feel more content and relaxed, but certain provisions such as chocolate and even pasta can release endorphins that literally make us feel happier and more open.
They also say we are what we eat, so if you can find the perfect dishes for your loved one, they will feel perfect too, and in turn be extremely grateful for the great gift of food you have given them. Furthermore, the better you allow them to eat, the less likely they are to be deficient in certain food groups or nutrients and the more vital and indeed happier they are likely to feel.
Food and drink as gifts
When it comes to offering food to a loved one on a special occasion, there will be many things to take into account. Presentation will be everything, and if you cannot be bothered to take the time to make the food and drink you offer look great, many of the great benefits of offering such a gift will be lost. Imagination will also go a long way, and even if cooking your partner their favourite meal seems like the best option, try to add a unique twist to make it stand out from the numerous other times they will have eaten such a dish.
Fortunately, you do not have to be a world-class chef to present food and drink in an aesthetically pleasing way. In fact, it may be that you can just present certain foods in a hamper to make the gift even more appealing.
Hampers work well on many levels, not only allowing you to find a range of indulgent and appetising provisions that perfectly complement each other all in one place, but it will also feel like far more like you are giving a gift if your food is actually presented in such a way. A bow on your chocolate dessert may be a sweet touch, but if you offer a selection of treats wrapped together, the amount of effort you have gone to and the thoughtfulness of such a gift will hit home far more easily.
Choosing the right foods
Choosing food and drink for a loved one on a special occasion is actually harder than it seems. Not only do you want to find delicacies they will love and that you can actually put together to form a smorgasbord of treats or make a luxurious meal from, but you will also want to make sure that they are not left feeling too indulged at the end of it all. Too many sweets can leave one feeling sick, whilst foods that are too rich may also have an unsavoury gastric effect.
Instead, find food and drink they love and make sure that you have a range of complementary extras to ensure that the meal (or your beautiful buffet of snacks) is nutritious, delicious and unlikely to leave them feeling bloated and in turn very unsexy.
